I have the same question. I exercised all my stock options and sold them in 2023 and reported all of it in that tax year. The Exercise of Stock Options Worksheet continues to be included in my return for 2024 but I have 0 ISO shares. Do I just delete the form?

You can delete the forms that may contain a carryover position from previous years.

These may include:

  • Exercise of Stock Options Worksheet
  • Form 8949
  • Schedule D

You can search for these forms in the Delete procedure.

Select Tax Tools

  • Hint: You may have to minimize tabs for both Federal & State
  1. On the drop-down select Tools
  2. On the Pop-Up menu select Delete a Form
  3. This will give you all of the forms in your return
  4. Scroll down to the form you want to delete
  5. Select the Form
  6. Click on Delete.

Be aware, other investment sales or form 1099-DIV  that you posted this year may be on these forms.  Confirm their accuracy when you complete the delete process.
