Question

I don't have the acquisition date for a stock I sold this year, I have had the stock for a long time and can't find the records. How do I estimate a date in turbo tax?

The acquisition date is used to determine if a sale is short-term, held for 1 year or less, or long-term.  From your post, it appears that you held the stock for more than one year.  It would be acceptable for you to make a best guess estimate of the acquisition date using what records you have.
