I have a 1099-B that shows no realized long term gain or loss. section shows undistributed capital gains or capital loss carryover. I have neither.how do I file this?

this is for a $5,000 CD for which i've already entered the interest. Do i still need to file a schedule D?

You wouldn't have to report the 1099-B form if there is no sale amount listed on it.

Thanks for your response. There was a sale price but no realized gain or loss. My financial advisor was able to assist so I've already filed. appreciate your response.
