To clarify, do you mean how to deduct the rent you paid while living in a home/apartment on rent? If yes, then Texas does not allow a deduction/credit for the rent paid.

If you mean, you have a rental property and you want to deduct expenses related to that, then those would go on Schedule E.

Please follow the steps below to add expenses related to your rental property:

1. Click on Tax Home from the left side menu
2. Click on Wages & Income from the main screen
3. Scroll down and you will see a section for Rentals, Royalties and Farm. Within this section, there is an option for Rental Properties.
