Question

I moved apartments in the same building so I have 2 CRP forms. How do I put both of them in on Turbotax

First, you'll need to complete the Worksheet for Multiple CRPs in the Form M1PR instructions.  Make note of the line 5 computation from the worksheet. You'll need to enter it in TurboTax.

 

Then, to enter your Renter’s Property Tax Refund information in TurboTax Online: 

  1. Open TurboTax Online
  2. Select  Tax Home in the left pane
  3. On the  Hi, let's keep working on your taxes! screen, select the dropdown on the right side of the State Taxes box, then select StartContinue, or Review/Edit
  4. If the  You've already got a head start on state taxes screen appears, select Let's get started.  Otherwise, in the left pane, select Prepare State
  5. Proceed through the screens until you come to the Status of your state returns screen
  6. Select  StartContinue or Edit to the right of Minnesota.  If no state is shown, select + Add another state
  7. Proceed through the state screens, including any screens referring to tax credits.  Late in the interview, you'll come to the Other Forms You May Need screen
  8. Select the checkbox to the left of Property Tax Refund (Form M1PR), then select Continue
  9. On the  Property Tax Refund screen, select the checkbox to the left of Renter, then select Continue
  10. Answer appropriately on the Confirming Eligibility for RentersWelfare PaymentsMinnesota Tax Rebate Payment and  Minnesota Nontaxable Income screens
  11. On the  Certificate of Rent Paid screen, select Yes
  12. Enter all relevant information on the Enter information from your CRP screen.  Among other things, you'll enter the line 5 computation from the Worksheet for Multiple CRPs, described above.  When finished, select Continue
  13. Proceed through any screens that follow
