Question

I moved from California to Texas in January 2022 and my permanent residency status is in Texas. Texas has no income tax, where do I change my residency status on my California return in turbo tax?

If you earned any income or paid any taxes to California in January 2022, you need to file a California Part-Year Resident Return.   If not, you don't need to file in California.

At the beginning of the California interview in TurboTax, you are asked if you filed a California return for 2021, and for dates you moved into/out of California.

On the next screen you will be able to indicate you are Domiciled in Texas.
