I need to enter unallowed passive loss carryover for a prior rental and am using turbotax deluxe. Notthing about previous rental property is being asked.

You may need to create a new rental property (Schedule E) to record the passive loss carryovers. This question appears in the Property Summary/Profile section. Look for the page that asks, "Do any of these situations apply to this property?" Check the box for passive losses, then complete the entries on the next page. You won't need to enter anything else for this Schedule E.

The easiest way to find any section of TurboTax is to open your return and use the Search box at the top right side of the TurboTax header. Click on the magnifying glass, type in "schedule e", hit Enter, and click the "jump to" link to go directly to beginning of that topic.

Or go to the left column in TurboTax Online and click on Tax Tools >> Tools >> Topic Search. Type in "schedule e", then click the topic in the list to go directly to the start of that section.
