I received a Form 3922. My employer started letting us buy stock. Will not take me to Form 3922, it takes me to 1099-B. What the heck. Turbo Tax is horrible this year.

also when I scanned my W2's the data prefilled incorrect boxes and even added random amounts in blank fields.

Your employer would send you Form 3922 if you purchased ESPP stock during the tax year. If you didn't sell any ESPP stock, don't enter anything from your 3922. Keep it with your tax or investment paperwork, in case you need to correct the cost basis when you later sell the shares.

As for your W-2. TurboTax has a standard format that must be complied to for the import of documents. If you have identified discrepancies, I suggest you review the posting manually.

Select Wages and Salaries, or Revisit
Select add a W-2 for the appropriate person if married.
Post the tax ID number for the employer.
If you want to import the W-2, enter the value from box 1 of the W-2
1. Follow instructions for the import.
If not, select [Change how I enter my form]
[Type it Myself]
Review the W-2 information.

First of all, if your employer issued you a 3922 this year for purchasing employee stock and if you did not sell the stock, ignore the 3922 because it is for informational purposes. If you sold the stock for the year, you would need the 3922 to supply missing information if the 1099 B doesn't have it or list it incorrectly. information such as cost basis and the date you acquired the stock is on this form. If it is missing from the 1099 B or the 1099 B basis information or date acquired is incorrect, then you would use the information that is recorded on the form as the correct information.

First of all, you would receive a 1099B for the sale of the stock. Here are the steps for reporting the sale of employee stock.

In TurboTax, search for 1099-b and select the link.
Answer Yes on the Did you sell any of these investments in 2023? screen.
Select Continue on the Get ready to be impressed screen.
Either import your info from your bank or institution or select Enter a different way on the Let's import your tax info screen if you don't want to upload.
- If you chose not to upload, select Stocks, Bonds, Mutual Funds on the OK, let's start with one investment type screen and select Continue. Be sure to select Employee Stock purchase plan (ESPP)
On the Tell us about your 1099-B sales screen, answer the questions, and answer Yes under Do these sales include any employee stock?
Select Continue.
Add your details from your 1099-B and select Continue.
