To remove a stock sale that you entered by error in TurboTax Deluxe follow these steps.

  • With TurboTax open Wages & Income.
  • Scroll down to Investment Income select 1099-B or Broker Statements click visit all/update
  • On the page here's the investment sales info we have so far Click on delete for the stock sale that you want to cancel.
  • Click yes when you are asked Are you sure you want to remove this Form 1099-DIV.

Where is the delete button?  I only see buttons for "Add more sales" and "continue".  It says "needs review" for a line item that is zero but clicking continue simply exits the investment sales summary and does not take me to a screen to remove the line item or review it.

There should be either a delete button or a trash can next to where it says review.  If not, you can go to Tools>>Tax Tools>>Delete a form and then delete the form 1099-B for that sale.

VIP I-Pad users - you must move the page to the right to see the Trash Can, allowing you to delete a stock sale.
