Question

I've received a 1099-Div and 1099-B for the same Fund. I've completed the Schedule B for capital gains, do I also need to complete the Schedule D?

Yes. You must complete Schedule D (Form 1040), if you have amounts that were reported to you on Form 1099-B. Schedule D is used to calculate all capital gains and losses.

Dividends reported to you on Form 1099-DIV must be included on Schedule B (Form 1040) for inclusion as income in your individual income tax return.
