Question

If I did not earn income, pay rent, or have any taxable income in a state but lived there for two months, do I still have to file taxes with that state?

I lived at home briefly for a month and a half before moving to a new state for my job, do I need to file 2023 taxes for that state? Everything in the TurboTax boxes after following the prompts are at 0 for that state's taxes.

If you had no income that was sourced from the state where you were living there is no need to file a state tax return for that state.
