Question

If I was evacuated due to Hurricane Ian. Is any of my lodging and meals deductible? If I was forced to move from a rented apartment is anything deductible?

Federal disaster areas can result in a casualty loss deduction, yes.  However, there are a lot of hurdles.  Most of the articles on this are outdated, in fact.  I posted a couple of them here before I edited it.
