Import 1099-B Summary Only
I realize that I can manually enter a 1099-B summary, or I can import a 1099B with all the detailed transactions.
Is there a way to import a 1099-B with only the summary data?
No, there isn't a way to import just the summary data. If you decide to do a "summary" of your 1099-B forms, TurboTax will generate Form 8453. You'll need to print and mail Form 8453 to the IRS within 3 business days once your federal return has been accepted.
Mail Form 8453, with your attachments to:
Internal Revenue Service
Attn: Shipping and Receiving, 0254
Receipt and Control Branch
Austin, TX 73344-0254
