In personal info re income from another state suggests pick "yes" inspite of no out-of-state income but did have rental income from in CA property.

TT asked if either of us made income in a state other than CA. There was no income from any other state. TT suggests to answer "yes" if there is rental income. There is rental income from CA property. rental income will be addressed on schedule E.

You are correct, do not say "yes" to income earned in another state. You can check your Personal information and scroll to "Other State Information" to be sure another state isn't listed there. If so, be sure to delete it by clicking on the edit.
