I just need to know if I need to enter this 1099 DIV as they are saying I had capital gains as well.

Yes, you need to enter your reinvested dividends and capital gains, reported on your 1099-DIV, on your tax return(s).

You did get the dividends but instead of getting them in the form of a check or cash, you just put the dividends back into your account. It's the same with interest paid on a savings/checking account. You don't get the money in hand, it just gets put into your savings/checking account.
