Is it mandatory to list a home as a rental if I have family living in it and paying the mortgage?

My family live in my house. They pay the expenses and the monthly mortgage. I don't make a profit. Is it mandatory that i list this as a rental?

    No, but you cannot claim the mortgage interest or property tax paid on that property as a deduction and they cannot claim any tax breaks on the house, such as claiming a home office.
