Is it possible to add a summary of gains and losses for crypto trading for the year in turbo tax?

    Yes, you can enter that as an investment sale. You enter investment sales in the Wages and Income section of TurboTax, then Investments Sales, then Stocks, cryptocurrency, Mutual Funds, Bonds, etc... Skip the section where it asks if you want to upload your tax documents. Choose Cryptocurrency for the type of investment.

    IRS requires your crypto SELL details to be listed on your own Form 8949,
    or on your other forms (e.g. spreadsheets) which have the same information and in the same manner as Form 8949.

    If your crypto exchange does not give you a 1099-B, Form 8949 or CSV in the form and manner of Form 8949,
    you have to assemble that information yourself,
    or pay for a third-party app to do it.

    OTHERWISE,

    enter each SELL transaction individually from your own records.

    Tell TurboTax you did not receive a 1099-B for the transaction(s).
