Is there a tax credit or deduction for building a storm shelter or safe room?

    No, there is not a Federal tax credit or deduction available for building a safe room or storm shelter.

     

    However, there may be a state credit or deduction available.  For example, Alabama, New York, and Ohio have this type of credit.  There may be others as well.
