I am a California resident and I own an investment property in Texas.

When I sell my investment property, do I pay state capital gain tax in Texas?  If not, do I still have to pay capital gain tax in California?

Since Texas has no state income tax, or property gains tax, the sale of a property in Texas carries no additional tax burden over the federal capital gains.  What does Fl have to do with anything since you aren't selling property there?   While FL and TX have no current income tax, tax laws are constantly changing

and yes,   as a CA resident you'll pay tax there on the sale of TX property.     by the way if the property was in a state with an income tax you would probably be taxed by both states.  what you would get as a resident of CA, is some sort of credit for the double-taxed income
