Question

Last year I converted a rental to my personal home, but it is still showing on the rental list in Turbo Tax. Should I delete it from the list, or should I leave it?

I didn't want to delete it, because I expect to convert it back to a rental in the future. However, I don't want Turbo Tax to include any automatic depreciation with my taxes and cause errors.

At this point in our conversation here in this forum, don't delete anything.First, we need to determine if you correctly and completely converted the property to personal use on  your 2019 return.

On your 2019 return you prepared last year, did you:

- Select the option for "I converted this property from a rental to personal use in 2019"?

- Did you work through each individual asset in the assets/depreciation section and select the option for "I stopped using this asset in 2019"?
