Question

Moved from Florida to Illinois at the end of August. Page is asking for my "Rents, Royalties, and K-1 Income." Am I supposed to fill in how much I paid in rent?

Rent that you pay for your residence is not deductible on the federal return. Since FL doesn't tax personal income there's nothing concerning rent at the state level.

It would "appear" that you may have incorrectly indicated to the program that you own rental property or royalty rights. Maybe you received a 1099-MISC with income reported in box 1 or box 2?

If you do not own any rentals or receive any royalty income, and you don't have a 1099-MISC with income in box 1 or 2, you need to delete the SCH E in the rental & royalty income section and then do not work that section through at all.
