I have taxable muni bond interest from 2 different sources. I entered the amount separately in exactly the same way for each source. TT only transferred the amount from one source to my state return. Why won't the amount form the other source transfer?

It depends on how this is reported in Turbo Tax. Here are a few things to look for.

    1. Check State Selection: Ensure that you have correctly selected the state for each source of municipal bond interest. Sometimes, TurboTax may not transfer the amounts if the state selection is incorrect or missing.
    2. Review 1099-INT Entries: Double-check the entries for both sources of municipal bond interest. Make sure that all the information is entered accurately and that there are no discrepancies.
    3. Use "More than one state" Option: If you have municipal bond interest from multiple states, you may need to select the "More than one state" option in TurboTax. This can help ensure that all the interest amounts are transferred correctly to your state return.

    Q. Why won't the amount form the other source transfer?

    A. The usual reason is that you selected your home state at the screen titled "Tell us more about your tax exempt interest". Instead, check "I earned interest in more than one state (or "Multiple states").

In the "select a state" box, scroll down to multiple states, if you did not get a break down by state, from the Financial institution.
