My 1099B does not have a "date acquired" as our form says in "unknown". The system wants a date - what do we enter?

Enter the approximate date that you acquired or inherited the investment.  As long as the holding period was greater than one year, the IRS probably won't complain.  They only care about "long-term" vs "short-term."
