My home office is 120 square feet - why does TurboTax think I deserve 83% of my rent as a deduction? Turbo Tax never asks the size of the apartment.

By they way, my apartment is 2,000 square feet. But TurboTax doesn't ever ask me about that. I guess they assume I live in a 150 square foot closet where 120 feet of that is my office.

Check your home office entry. TurboTax does ask you about the square footage of your home office and your entire home.

  1. Type sch c in Search (magnifying glass) in the top right
    Select Jump to sch c
  2. On "Your 2022 self-employed work summary" tap Edit
  3. On "Here's your [work] info," tap Edit next to Home Office
  4. Continue to "What was the size of this home office?"

I need to pay more attention to the screen.

I saw the picutre that shows width and length, I entered that in the two boxes... However upon actually *reading* the text, the first box is sq feet of the office, second box is sq feet of the house/apartment.
