Question

My husband and I were separated in 2023 but not divorced yet. My soon-to-be ex-husband will file as married filing separate. I have no income from work, just Supplemental Security Income (SSI, not SSA). Do I still need to file a tax return?

it sounds like you have nothing to enter on a tax return.  SSI is not taxable and does not get entered on a tax return.

Who has to file?
