To keep it simple, let's say I sold 3 different stocks in 2023:

stock A was sold with a long term gain of $1000.

stock B was sold with a long lose of $1000.

stock C was sold with a short term gain of $1000.

Do I have a short term capital gain of $1000 for the year of 2023?

Yes, you are correct, short term capital gain since the long term transactions cancel each other out.
