Question

Property was purchased in 2006 of which we paid taxes on, however no rental income received. Property sold 2022. How to deal with this on 2022 return?

If this property was not a rental and not your personal residence, then it was a second home. You were able to deduct the property taxes on your income tax return, on Form 1040 Schedule A, each year, in the year you paid them.

To enter the sale of your second home, please see Where do I enter the sale of a second home, an inherited home, or land on my 2022 taxes?
