Hi,

If I'm expecting to make a sizable capital gain on the sale of an invesment, do I need to make quarterly estimated tax payments throughout the way?

If yes, how exactly do I do that?

Thanks

Yes, you should make quarterly estimated taxes for the sizable capital gains that you are expecting to receive from the sale of your investment.

TurboTax can estimate the amount of your quarterly estimated tax payments based on your income. Just add the expected additional income and the estimated payments will be calculated.  Please see this TurboTax Help article for additional information.
