Rental Property Carryovers manual lookup and entry

I used turbo tax in 22 and using again in 23. In the initial property questions (sold, rented, converted, carryover screen), why does system ask about Carryovers instead of looking up information from previous Turbo Tax. Program shows my tax history. Also, why must I manually enter figures from schedule E, D?

If you transferred in the prior year information the program should already have that information ... the options to add something is done for those who do not transfer in the prior year info and/or had amended the return outside of the TT program. Please don't enter the info again if it was already transferred ... review the return carefully before filing.
