Question

RSU withhold to cover not listed in 1099B tax year 2024

hello,

I have a question about entering RSU vesting that is not included in my 1099B

I have RSUs that vested in 2024 that I chose "Withhold to cover" as my tax election. Those transactions have not been reported in my 1099B but the income is included on my W-2 box 1 income.

Can you please guide me how to enter these in turbotax in the stocks and investments interview ? I do not see a place to enter transactions that are not included on my 1099.

Thanks,

Somesh

If you use "Withhold to cover" versus "sell to cover" there are no sales for you to report.

Your employer kept those shares and paid you via Box 1 on your W-2.

They paid you the value of those shares, so there is no capital gain to report and the sales income is in your wages.

    Thanks for the response. @KrisD15

If I don't enter those transactions in the stocks interview, then the calculated W-2 compensation income in turbotax does not match the amount in W-2 box 14.

How does one reconcile those numbers ?

    Thanks
