I own GE stock and a few years ago they decided to turn some stocks into one of their other companies.  I sold them in 2021.  When turbo tax imported the information from the investment company it moved in GE but dates don't match.  what does it want me to do?

If the correct acquisition dates are not reported, you can modify those entries by entering the correct dates if you know them. Otherwise, you need to enter a date that will result in the correct holding period of short term (held less than one year) or long term (held more than one year.) There are only two holding periods, long or short, so as long as you get that correct your gain or loss will be properly stated on your tax return.
