Sold a property two years ago and now received back rent on a 1099misc. can I just claim income on schedule c?

Assuming you reported the original income on a schedule E, which is where you normally report rental income, you should report it as rental income in TurboTax so that it shows on a schedule E. You would only report it on a schedule C if you were considered a dealer in real estate. If you did that when you orginally reported the rental income, then you should report it as such in the current tax year.
