Question

Sold a rental property and Oklahoma needs FEIN number?

I sold my rental property last year and had a capital gain that I worked through the Residential Properties section. Oklahoma State Taxes are not allowing me to file without a FEIN number, which I don't have. Anyone else have this issue and what to do about it?

Could you please clarify where in the OK tax return you are being asked for a FEIN?

It is not uncommon to see the acronyms EIN, EFIN, TIN used interchangeably to refer to the same number.  The format is the same for each number XX-XXXXXXX.  If you have a number with this format it is more than likely the number you are being asked for.

Form 561 - capital gains. It asks for address and/or FEIN number. If I put the address in, it still wants the FEIN. I don't have a tax ID number for my rentals.
