Sold Rental Property Owned by me and my brother, but he is not on any paperwork as owner.
My brother and I owned a rental property together. The property was only in my name. But,we both shared all expenses and income 50/50. We sold the property in 2024. Since I am the only one listed on all paperwork, I am the only one that got a 1099-S and for the full proceeds of the sale. Do I only need to provide him with a 1099-S for half of the proceeds? If so is he the Filer and I the Transferor?
