Moved to Oklahoma. In mountains off grid.    Rent house in Texas and work there. What are my tax qualifications?   What I should do.

Texas doesn't have an income tax.

OK you would file either a full-year resident return, if you lived the entire 2023 year in the state, reporting all income including that earned in Texas or if you moved to Ok in 2023 report all the income earned, including that in Texas, once residency was established.

see this link for how OK defines resident

Oklahoma taxes its residents on all their income, regardless of where it was earned.

If you moved to Oklahoma during the tax year, then you would file a part-year resident Oklahoma tax return, reporting all the income you earned after the move.

    How do I file a part-year state return? (intuit.com)
