Question

The state of GA return loads capital gains and allows a split between filers but not interest or dividends. how can I do this

I am a full year resident so it is taxable and is on the state return but allocated all to me

For interest and dividends, you can show the ownership of the income in the 1099-INT  or 1099-DIV screen, when you are filing a joint tax return. 

 

If you go back and review the 1099-INT or 1099-DIV screens in the Federal section, you will see drop down to the right of the Payer's name. It defaults to the person listed first on the return, but it can be changed to Joint or Spouse.
