Question

TT is forcing me to enter a sale of an asset that I did not sale

I have a rental property that I have owned for several years. During Federal Review it is forcing me to enter a date sold in Schedule E Worksheet. I did not sell my property and I continue to use it as a rental. I can not get past this screen. I noticed there is a "0" in line 21 where it asks for asset sale price but I can not edit that field. I feel like this is causing the issue but again I can not edit.

I went back several times to my rental property section where it asks Did you sell your property or stop using it at any time. I have hit "No" every time and I can not get this to change. I can continue on past the review but I do not want to file an incorrect return. Please advise

I am using TT Online.

You might review your entries for the rental asset itself under Expenses/Assets, especially on the page "Did you stop using this asset in 20XX?" Answering No again on this page may resolve the review message.

I have went back and answered "No" several times.  I even mentioned that in my original post. Still getting the same message to enter a sale date, when that is not the case whatsoever.

Please return to the Rental property profile for the rental property. This is at the top of the rental summary page with a pencil icon to the right.

Under General Info, click Edit under the Situations topic. Be sure the box "Sold or disposed of this property" has no checkmark.
