Where are capital gains Box E reported?

Contradiction

Turbotax 2022 download version schedule D line 9 states "Totals for all transactions reported on form 8949 with Box E checked"

Form 8949 states " form 8949 are created automatically, based on Schedule D input"

Not possible to input information

You need to enter 1099-B information under Wages and Income, Investment Income. TT will generate the 8949 and Schedule D from this data.

I am not using Easy Step but entering directly on to the appropriate form as I always do

Schedule D , Line 9 states "Total for all transaction from 8949 Box E checked" . Clicked on input box on that line generates form 8949. Part 11 form 8949 states " you must check Box D, E of F below" Box E form 8949 flashes when clicked but that is all .

Tired using override but no effect.

Communicated with Turbotax via email but they just sent me off to an irreverent link.

Actually talked to a person who thought there might be a problem and suggested I downloaded the form directly from IRS.gov but how would you link it into the Turbotax return?
