What situations have to be met for me to have to report an airbnb rental? Is there a specific $ amount in earnings that has to be met or do I have to report regardless?

If you rented this property for 14 days or less, you are not required to report the rental income. But you also cannot deduct any related expenses.  There is no dollar amount limitation.  

 

If you rented the property for over 14 days, you have to report the income, and you can deduct any expenses.
