Sold bunch of ESPP and RSUs.  On 1099-B have bunch of transactions, but its not clear which is which.  Then on Turbo Tax it asks "What type of investment did you sell?" ... uh?  Its not anywhere on 1099-B.

Where exactly is it asking "What type of Investment did you sell?"

Here's how you would enter it.

In the search bar in the upper right hand corner, type in Espps (you must type in the s at the end of Espp)

then click on the blue Jump to bar Espps

You will get to this section, hit yes

then click on the section which shows Stocks, Bonds and mutual funds

then you'll get to the screen Which bank or brokerage, you'll enter the information

you'll get to the screen " Do these sales include any employee stock( This includes ESPP , RSU etc., hit yes

then further down the screen did you have three or more sales, answer yes or no

then  a couple of screens down, you'll  get to this section What type of investment did you sell, there will be a dropdown box which will give you the option of entering either Espp's or RSU's

If you are not clear which of the transactions on your 1099B represent RSU's and which represent ESPP's, consult your institution that issued to you the 1099B for clarification.
