Hi,

I am using turbotax premier version (Mac download), i am wondering where do I enter building depreciation for rental property? I went to the rental property section, but could not find an item for building deprecation. Thanks a lot!

As you enter the initial information about your rental property, if 2022 was the first year that you rented the property, then questions will come up automatically about the property so that depreciation can be calculated.

Otherwise, go to Assets/Depreciation in the Rental Income and Expenses section of your return to enter the details for depreciating the rental property itself.

Hi, thanks so much for your help! I went to the assets/deprecation section, but still could not find an item for "building depreciation", so does it mean i should put it under "real estate property"--> "residential rental real estate" section? thanks a lot!

Yes, that's exactly where you enter the depreciation for the building/house itself.
