Question

Why didn't TurboTax generate a Form 8949 on my return, although it generated a Schedule D and filled in a line that says "reported on Form(s) 8949 with Box F checked" ?

It doesn't seem right that the Form 8949 was not generated, even though the Schedule D is directly making a reference to Form 8949.

How do you know a Form 8949 was not completed by the program?  Have you looked at all your forms and schedules in the return?

 

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen.  Then click on Print Center.  Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return.  Choose the option Include government and TurboTax worksheets
