Will I be able to get deductions for the appliances, repairs and paint for my new primary residence?

No. There is no deduction for repairs done to your primary residence (main home). Some improvements, however, can increase the basis of your home. This will not give you a deduction, but can help in terms of when you sell your residency.  See the link below for additional information

No.   Repairs and improvements to your primary residence are not deductible.  Keep your invoices and records for someday when you sell the house.
