is it better for me to receive my commission over a 3 week period or all at once

    At the end of the year the total amount you owe in taxes will be the same no matter how it is divided or paid.

     But depending on your payroll service you might have more taxes withheld in a lump sum payment then if it were paid over a longer period. The tax tables assume that your income each pay period is annualized and it would appear to the calculator that you are in a higher tax bracket.
