Question

Stimulus Check - Will I get one?

Hello,

My 2018 Tax Return deems me ineligible to receive a stimulus check as I was a dependent. My 2019 Tax Return (just filed beg. of June) deems me eligible to receive a stimulus check (not a dependent anymore). Will I get a stimulus check? Are there any actions/steps I need to take to receive one?

Thanks!

The IRS can use either your 2018 or 2019 return to issue a stimulus check.  If you just recently filed your 2019 return, you will have to wait until they process it to use it to issue a stimulus check.

As stated by Champ xmasbaby0, your stimulus payment should be issued based on your 2019 return that was just filed.  Use the following information to track your tax refund and your stimulus payment.

You can check the status of your Federal refund through the IRS -- Where's My Refund? tool.

See the following TurboTax article:  Where's My Tax Refund:  How to check your refund status

Also, there is now a tool available through the IRS site link below that will allow you to check the status of your stimulus payment.  It is called Get My Payment.
