If we ammend our 2016 and 2017 taxes can we get the money deducted from student loan repayment back ?

Why would you expect that?  Did you not owe student loan payments for those years?  Was your tax refund seized for delinquent student loans?  

 

If you are thinking that because for this year they are not taking your stimulus money or tax refund for student loans owed that you can go back and recover money they took in an earlier year--you cannot do that.
