Hi, I have a O1 visa and my Wife has a O3, we are non resident aliens and I have to do my taxes but my wife is my dependent, she can't get a ssn, Can I get any Benefit?

    "An O-1 visa is a type of U.S. visa that allows an individual of extraordinary ability or achievement to enter the United States for the purpose of working in their field of expertise."

     

    First, in the US tax system, your spouse is never your "dependent" for purposes of taxation. However, to be able to add your spouse to your US tax return, you will need to get an ITIN for your spouse, a tax number that is used by the IRS for individuals who cannot get an SS number.
