1099-g question

I received a payment from USDA for land cleanup after tornado damage to clean up trees and land. I received a 1099-g but when I enter the information, it keeps saying it was a farm rental. I do not have a farm rental and I do not run a business. I do not know how to answer those questions and also can I take off for the fuel and equipment used to do the clean up? Am I supposed to enter the 1099-g somewhere else?

Please clarify if the funds that were used for equipment and fuel came out of the payment your received from USDA for land cleanup so I may answer that portion of your question.

If your payment from your 1099-G was entered on a Schedule F for a farm, refer to the TurboTax article; I don't have a farm. How do I delete Schedule F? to delete it.

If your 1099-G is showing up on Form 4835 Farm Rental Income and Expenses, refer to the TurboTax help article How do I view and delete forms in TurboTax Online? for instructions to delete Form 4835.

Form 1099-G is entered under Other Common Income under the Wages & Income Section. Refer to the TurboTax Help article Where do I enter a 1099-G for a state or local tax refund? for instructions.  You will enter your payment for land cleanup there.

If you still need assistance, reply back.
