Question

1099B

TurboTax keeps asking me for more information on a 1099B form. I never received a 1099B and my brokerage says I wasn't supposed to receive a 1099B.  Form lists a company I have no record of.

When working on my Federal Tax forms with TurboTax I filled out the form with $0 transactions. Now I'm filling out the Pennsylvania TurboTax and again they want more explanation of the $0 I listed in the Federal form.

Can I simply delete the 1099B form from my TurboTax return? Is there another way to get around this road block? HELP

Hope it's warm where you are.

Yes, if there were no transactions we can clear the 1099-B from your return.

    1. Open (continue) your return if it isn't already open.
    2. Income & Expenses
    3. Scroll to Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other
    4. Answer Yes to Did you sell stocks, mutual funds, bonds, or other investments in 2020?
      • If you see Here's the info we have for these investment sales, select Add More Sales.
    5. Answer Yes to Did you get a 1099-B or brokerage statement for these sales?
    6. At Let's get your tax info, choose how you want to enter your 1099-B (type it in yourself).
    7. At this point you should see a list of 1099-B's on your return.
    8. There is a trash can on the right hand side.
    9. Click on the trash can and confirm that you want to delete the record.
