1099R and 4852 ... I have received a 1099-R and Turbo Tax wants me to complete a 4852 even though I received a 1099-R. Is completing the 4852 Required?

In the program, when you start to enter a 1099-R, the first screen asks you to choose the 1099R type. On that screen there is also a sentence you can check saying you need to file a substitute 1099-R. That box was somehow accidentally checked. Since you said you needed to do the substitute form, you need to delete it.

You should be able to delete the form 4852 you accidentally started by following instructions in this FAQ
